As I watched this short documentary about an architect's response to the border town between Juarez and El Paso, It strikes me that we mold our environment to our will, and beauty can come out from the short-sighted prejudice of that will. I recognize it's easy enough for me to say, since I live miles and miles from a border town in a relatively comfortable place, but I recognize the walls of today become the relics of tomorrow, and they all fall down in the end. With that in view, it's not about whether the walls fall down, but what we did in the process.
